SEMRush Writing Tool is by far my favorite tool for content writing. It helps with keyword research, competitor research, traffic analysis, and link building. In the SEMRush SEO Writing Assistant tool, simply enter the keywords you’re looking to rank for and start typing your text. 

By using a writing assistant, you can ensure your copy meets the needs of your audience and is highly visible. From reminding you to add targeted keywords in your title to suggesting additional keywords to enrich your text, SEMRush Writing Tool has got you covered.


SEMRush Writing Tool has 3 different paid plans, but they offer a free trial for 7 days. The plans range from $99.95 to $399.95 per month. However, only the Guru Plan ($199.95) and the Business Plan ($399.95) contain features that specifically target content marketing. 

Hemingway Editor


Hemingway Editor makes your content bold and clear. The editor highlights lengthy, complex sentences and points out grammatical errors. This tool is great for smoothing out your content and making it more readable. For an information-packed copy, especially, Hemingway Editor does wonder for making your writing understandable to your target audience. 


The web-based version of Hemingway Editor is free. However, the desktop app for Mac or PC costs $19.99. With the desktop app, you can publish directly to WordPress or your site. 



BuzzSumo is one of the best tools for content writing. It is an all-in-one tool that guides you through the content creation process, from topic generation and research to monitor your content’s performance. It can also assist in identifying relevant influencers in your industry. 

BuzzSumo helps you discover trending topics to better conceptualize and craft engaging content.  This tool takes it one step further by offering support in monitoring the success of your content or marketing campaigns. 


BuzzSumo has a free 7-day trial, which can help you determine if it is the right tool for you. If so, BuzzSumo offers 4 different plans ranging from $99 to $499 per month. However, the Plus Plan ($179) contains all the features needed to adequately support your writing process.  



Quora is a place to ask questions and share knowledge. It’s the best way to find out what type of questions your target audience is asking to pinpoint how you can solve their problem. You can also answer questions in Quora to drive traffic back to your website.

Google Analytics is one of the most popular tools for measuring and monitoring the success of your website or copy. It allows you to conduct an in-depth analysis of the visitors on your website. This helpful resource provides valuable insights that can help better shape the success strategy of your business.


Google Analytics is a free tool, but if you want more advanced features, you’ll have to pay a recurring fee that differs from feature to feature.

Hot Jar


Hot Jar is a tool that helps you understand what’s happening on your site, whether that be what your users care about or what they have to say about your site. It shows how visitors are using your website by collecting user feedback via surveys and polls. It then records the actions of the visitors on your page intending to turn more visitors into customers. 


Hot Jar is a free tool, but some features are locked unless you subscribe to their Pro Plan. For low traffic sites & early-stage startups, you should consider investing in the Pro Plan, which costs $29 per month and gives you access to more features. 



Canva is a graphic design tool that helps you create beautiful and unique designs. Its drag-and-drop feature makes it easy to use, and it comes with many different layouts and designs. Their templates allow you to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, and other visuals.  Canva also has tons of images, fonts, templates, and illustrations for users to create with. With the help of Canva, you have the freedom to produce original visuals that perfectly compliment your content. 


Canva is a free tool that you can use without paying a monthly charge. However, the free version comes with limited features. If you need more customization and design options, consider upgrading to Canva’s  Pro Plan for  $9.95 per month.
