G2Crowd provided detailed customer reviews from real users of Hootsuite, AgoraPulse, SproutSocial, and Sendible. The infographic covers a variety of information including user satisfaction, ability to meet business needs, how easy it is to learn and use, level of customer service support, product direction, market presence, and base price.

Hootsuite #1 for Market Presence and Base Price

Founded in 2008, Hootsuite allows you to manage Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Instagram from one integrated platform. Hootsuite has the least expensive base plan ($9/month) and scored first for market presence because it has the largest market share, company size and social presence of any other integrated platform. However, Hootsuite came 4th for product direction (8.4/10), being easy to learn (8.6/10), support (8.0), usability (8.6/10) and meeting requirements (8.3/10). Luckily Hootsuite scored a high in terms of user satisfaction (92/100) but the platform still came 3rd in that category.

Agora Pulse #1 Tool in Most Categories

It’s interesting to see how one of the lesser known tools, Agorapulse, scored highest in most categories. Founded in 2011, this platform helps you manage Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Agora Pulse had the top scores for user satisfaction (98/100), product direction (9.6/10), customer support (9.6/10) and meeting requirements (8.6/10). This social media tool came in second place for its base price plan ($29/month) and for how easy it is to learn and use. Since it’s a smaller company, Agora Pulse came 3rd in the market presence category.

SproutSocial Rated Easiest to Learn and Use

Since starting up in 2010, Sprout Social has quickly become one of the go-to social media management tools and it’s easy to see why: this platform earned the #1 score for being easy to learn (9.1/10) and usability (9.2./10). It was also a close second for user satisfaction (95/100), support (9.3/10) and market presence. However, this platform does come with a price: Sprout Social helps you manage Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Instagram for the joint most expensive base price plan of $59/month. In terms of product direction, which is the the vendors’ ability to meet the latest trends and features (8.9/10), and the ability to meet business requirements (8.3/10), Sprout Social came in 3rd overall.

Sendible #2 for Direction and Meeting Business Needs

One of Sendible’s key features is the ability to manage a plethora of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram and more. Though Sendible ranked 4th for user satisfaction (66/100), this social media tool came in 2nd for product direction (8.9/10) and meeting business requirements (8.5/10). It was 3rd for being easy to learn (8.6/10), support (8.7/10), usability (8.7/10). Along with the smallest market presence, Sendible has the most expensive base price plan ($59/month)!

Are There Alternative Social Media Management Tools?

Of course, it’s hard to include so many social media tools in one graphic and some key alternative tools were left out. Depending on your social media needs, it’s worth checking out MavSocial, Jollor, Oktopost, Meshfire, and Rignite.

In my opinion, MavSocial stands out for its focus on visual social media content. It has a digital assets library which lets you store your social media images on their database, as well as provides access to over 70 million stock photos. The company also recently decided to give away the majority of their features for free.

When confronted with all of these responsibilities, social media management tools are meant to keep you organized, efficient, and productive. These tools market themselves as the do-it-all solution to your social media management woes, but you still need a solid social media strategy and a general understanding of how to use them effectively.
